What to do with settlement?

If you are indeed getting $20k from that settlement, then I would surely use it as a downpayment on a house or condo. The market is very weak now and you can probably buy something great at 60% its original price. Your mortgage will also be the same as a monthly rent. So, it is a no brainer...Leave a comment:

eh. Just put it away until your ready for a down payment on a house. Dont waste your money on car stuff unless you can really afford it.
.... Im assuming you're young.. WHy else would you ask a car forum what you should do with your money..Leave a comment:

I dont think I was to keep the M42 though
say I buy another e30, what would give me the most bang for my buck
(in other words what is the one thing you would buy for a fresh e30?)
lowering springs, motor work, nicer wheels/tires, and so on?Leave a comment:

The "smart" thing to do would be to invest it in something so you can get a bigger return on your money in the future, but obviously the fun thing to do would buy a new E30.Leave a comment:

well what should I look into getting?
a 318i(s) and do a motor swap?
325i(s) and the whole art car tribute paint?
325e(s) and do a motor swap?
or none of that?Leave a comment:

^That's what I understand as well.
Keep the idea of no debt even once you have a career established, with the exception of a mortgage.Leave a comment:

I took the credit rating of my 2nd wife from a deadbeat 320 (welfare mom, no positives at all, blah blah blah) to a solid 680 with her making $8.50/hr in under 3 years doing just what I described.
Showed "paid" on her CRLeave a comment:
