oh and a couple tools next in line is a new welder, air cutting wheel, impact wrench, and an air sander. + some shitty disposable metric wrenches.

I want a welder so bad.
Oh, and one of those stud welders for body work. those things are neato.

      ummm what do I need...

      Oh.

A LIFT. Mark my words, when I retire from the Marines and become a postal worker, I'll find a place to land after moving every 3 years, and I'm going to have a multi-bay garage with an effing LIFT.

I can't afford them either, but when I'm able to keep a tab and only pay off $20 per week, it's hard to say no.
I use some craftsman stuff like screwdrivers, but some of their stuff is just shit. There's nothing I hate more than Craftsman ratchets.

I must not be beating on my car hard enough. I <3 Craftsman. I think I've only broken one tool, and that was a 1/2 to 3/8 step down adapter. Screwdrivers are worn, but hey, they're the catch-all tool, right? ;) I do wish that the ratchets were able to have fewer degrees between clicks (whatever you call it), but otherwise, I can't complain. For the $$, the warranty, and the fact that there is a Sears EVERYWHERE, you can't beat it.

                    Edit:
You know what really sucks? I need IMPERIAL sockets/spanners (fo realz) for my Mini. Just when i thought I had tools to fix anything, I go and buy a car that requires special tools. Sodding English...

                      wait, what?

is imperial different than metric?, which is different than standard?

^ Imperial is used by us, and metric is used by them.

Oh, my bad. Not imperial, not metric.

"Whitworth is an old British standard for screw threads and sizes. You need the Whitworth size tools to work on your old Austin, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, MG, BSA, or other old British made automobile or motorcycle."

A popular brand of British tools is, likely enough:

Lift, 80 gallon air compressor, electric snap-on impact, etc

I've gotten picky over the years, and my fucked up back agrees with me

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass. I have a '75 Leyland Mini and all my tools are metric since that's all I ever needed up until this car. It's a fun little car though.
