The clear is starting to separate from the hood of my Diamond "may the schwartz be with you" car and now there are splotches of white on the hood. I'm going to paint the entire car next summer when it get's warmer but in the mean time will it look ghetto if I strip and paint the hood primer black until then? May think of buying a carbon hood next yr but not till summer?
Paint it Black Primer.....ghetto??

I'd rather have a hood with peeling clear coat than black primer.Comment

don't do it. If you are getting the car painted next year, just wait patiently. Having a good hood with problems is easier on the eyes than having an ugly hood.~ Go Canucks Go! ~

Me too. My SE-R has major clearcoat peeling on the hood and roof and I'd rather leave it that way than have a spray can job.Originally posted by DigitalwaveI'd rather have a hood with peeling clear coat than black primer.Comment

Here's my primered Eta, a couple of the better pics of it. Don't worry, I have a nice car too.

YOu dont' want to leave it primer for long. Primer doesn't seal the metal (regular primer) so it can actually develop rust while it's primered. You are better off leaving it the way it is and waiting.

Definately Agreed. It will not only look weird but could also give you even more work in the long run. I'd say wait until you are getting the car sprayed!Originally posted by brodeeYOu dont' want to leave it primer for long.
