BMW considers diesel engine for M series

Disappointment and hope are two words that could be used to describe the feelings of BMW fans when they finish reading this article...

The 1 series is basically the present day E30.

If the 1 series was lighter, about 2,500, and then add a superior motor. It would easily be the return of the true Motorsport BMW.

Tractor trailers have insane diesel torque. It doesn't make them fun to drive.

I don't get it. In the article they say they won't make a Z4 M because it is "such a heavy car." Yet they go and make their SAVs..X5 and X6 into M cars? Aren't those alread beastly heavy cars? I think the X5 and X6 do NOT deserve the M badge. I really do not understand their thinking. Producing a Z4 M makes a lot more sense than one of their X vehicals. Wow BMW.

?? Seriously.... Wow, sorry a massive truck/RV built to transport 120 thousand pound trailers cross country 24/7 isn't fun enough for you.

Diesel would be a good change i think, maybe a better as an option though. Ever drive a turbo diesel chevy pickup, sooooo much straight line fun.

I don't really care for the 335d, not all that amazing to drive. The 335i is more fun in my opinion.

gas is the way to go. But it would be sick to have another crank to make a mad stroker with lol. thats about it. Watch Bmw is going to make a truck lol. Like they had in the factory back in the 80's

The X6M weighs 5200lb or almost exactly 2 E30s. Having a diesel M car will only encourage more over weight vehicles from bmw.

The diesel idea is a segway to diesels like Peugot and Audi LMP cars. Diesel = economic yet fast.

No Z4M because it's basically reworking the car to be exactly like an e92 m3 vert, thus cannabalizing sales. Bad idea.
