Paul, is the Jetta bigger than the E30?
Isn't that what the whole "getting a new car thing" is all about? Drive it, if you like it, do it.

I do need a bigger car. Ive never driven a turbo jetta. Are they gutless?

I Like how they look all stock with a drop if they have the factory bbs.

I know theres a lot of turbo upgrades but the car will always be FWD.

Value wise is it pretty fair? Id rather have a E34 and slam it on its nuts but all cash buyers seem like flakes.

If you're into it do it. Jettas can be good cars, 1.8T is a great engine (peeps on VW forums will tell you it can nevah lose). Fit and finish is not as good as E30 IMO. More room is debatable... the back seat in a Jetta/Golf is TINY!

Jetta's are pretty weak to drive, not to mention most new-ish VW's and Audi's with anywhere near 100k are nightmares. Problem after problem after problem-- I've seen them get bad. That said, the Jetta's seem to have the least issues of all of the VW/Audi vehicles I've worked on and around.

I'm not sure what the specs on your car are, but I would check the value of the Jetta. If there is a chance to get the Jetta as an even trade and it is worth a decent bit more than what you have in the E30, go for it. If you are considering the trade, your E30 probably doesnt have any sentimental value to you. If there's a chance to make money in the deal, I would do it in a heartbeat.

                          But that's me.

                              keep the e30.. it's not even a GTI 1.8t.

no need to bother with a jetta..
