No matter what you do with it, do it right and it will be awesome.

There's a guy around here with a really clean S30, no one really likes him but his car is fucking awesome.

Isn't an sr20 swap a fairly common motor swap with the 240s? But congrats, I've always loved the old 240z.

45k miles and you wanna swap it?!?!

If that z car has 45k original miles on it and you swap it, then at that point it's ruined in my book (and in many many other people's). But to some rich kid who's daddy just gives cars to him, well if that's the case then enough said and you'd never be able to understand. Please don't ruin something that's actually rare these days and is worth most with it all (or close to)original. Buy a ragged out bucket off of craigslist for a few hundred bucks and swap and mod it rather than destroy the value of dad's. :loco:

I just want you to know that I fucking hate you. Seriously. Strong, strong hatred is being directed your way.

I've always had a huge thing for Z cars (notice the sn) it started with my dad racing a '67 Fairlady in the 80s in GT4 with the SCCA.

              I would love to build a 240/260Z.

did you see the car? i mean it's not like he's giving me something that's worth 5 grand here. it's a project car that he's had sitting for years and will never do anything with. My parents never even paid my car insurance. I grew up poor. My parents used to be on welfare. Then my mom went full time, she got tenure around the time I started college, and my dad moved up from working on the job sites to management (though he did get laid off 3 months ago).

I was never handed a silver spoon.

my dad got this car for free when a friend passed away. my dad gave it to his father who drove it on nice days, but he passed away last year.

In regards to the car; we already have so many Z cars with stock motors. and we have so many L24's. there are 2 in my parents basement, one in my grandmothers garage, one at my uncles, etc. btw here's my uncle's 73

I wouldn't get much use out of the car with an L24. Those things are so slow. I do very well in the corners in a 240z but get killed on the straights. Refer to the pic at the glen, I am the first car coming out of the corner but about to get passed by the benz.

I want to have the car as a sunday driver/track car. Mostly I want it because I kind of feel like it's heritage. My dad has taken me camping in it to the vintage races at The Glen every year since I was 2. Anyway, the car needs to have power. We have enough L24 powered Z's

I think the z's no matter what gen. are sweet when done good. Here is a few pics of a z we have at the shop we worked on.

I had a 74 260Z with a built motor, triple webbers and the thing was awesome,
I always like the early Z's.....
