I just missed out on an opportuinity of a lifetime this week

ok, i know this isn't an e30, but hell you guys are the only bmw friends i have.

this week i was checking out local craigslist and i came across an ad for an 85 euro m6 that was supposedly factory turbo charged. unfortunately, i was in des moines so i couldn't get down there to look at it. i talked to the guy on the phone for close to an hour so i know that it wasn't bullshit. the photos looked pretty good but apparently it needed some work. the price was 1500 bucks. i have been waiting half my life for something like that to turn up. it really sucks to have your hands tied behind your back when an opportunity like that comes your way.

      That sucks.
Why didn't you commit to buy it when you were on the phone? Tell him you'd be over as soon as you were back in town?

well, as you can tell by the price, the guy didn't know for sure what he had. he was actually selling it for one of his friends. there was no photo of the engine and the ad was vague. my only inclination that it could have been something special was the fact that he made mention somewhere in the middle of the ad that it was an m635csi but who knows what kind of badges someone puts on their car. i asked questions about the throttle bodies, etc and he wasn't sure at the time. he called me back with the answers to my questions after someone had already came to look at it, thus putting me in a position where i was too late.

Well if he called you back, was the car already sold by that time?

Was it badged as an M6 or an M635csi ??

Also not too sure about it being claimed as a factory tubo, sounds like they were really trying to over hype it.

Either way sorry that you missed out on it.........don't even let me start to tell you how hard I and fellow member Bimmerista missed out on a pair of cars last weekend, one of them being a wrecked AA turboed M3.

Damn dude, that sucks! A couple months ago a guy was selling a great condition Mtech2 vert for 1500 bux, I just couldn't find the money for it. I really should have grabbed it. I'm still kicking myself for that.
