With the introduction of the X5M/X6M and now this, that seems to be a very true statement.

They've ("they" being the FOTA teams) not been accepted by the FIA yet, the other five non-FOTA teams have been though. More than likely, the FIA is currently working on the budget revisions, which the FOTA teams will then have to approve before any of them agree to the 2010 season.

While I suppose you are right, I suppose I what I was getting at was that motor sport and enthusiasts built BMW as a brand since the beginning.

BMW usually knows what's up. As disappointing as it is to see them dropping from F1 I'm confident they're doing the right thing.

Sucks to see, but really formula 1 just doesn't do it for me anymore.
Not enough passing, not enough action. I usually go down to the local kart tracks and race tracks to watch.

I would like to see BMW putting more focus on Series where the cars at least resemble their street cars, such as WTCC and American Lemans.

I dont think so. although their official statement says so, I think well see them take a break from motorsports and focus on building heavy diesel powered GREEN cars... I know I know, it makes no sense.
