A guy I work with did. Rolled then slid into a WRX. His car was parked in our lot the next morning and I thought he was dead. Not a scratch on him! He went out and bought another vert immediately after.

i have known a few people that were in bad E30 vert roll overs. one walked away and one broke his femor along with other things. They both ended up buying another vert.

Uh there is virtually no difference from a safety standpoint having the top up/down...

No, not really. the top is far to flimsy to support the car in the event of a rollover.

as a vrt owner ( wiht a non stock suspension) I am curious why the original post,
are the verts prone to rolling over more then a sedan ? I dont think so.
I think it is all the driver and skills and how hard pushed regardless of what you are driving

I have not rolled a bmw vert, but did a triumph vert ( on ice, in a corner, hit a curb, driving way to fast) and not a scratch on me, no roll cage, of course totaled the car and then dropped by my insurance
(of course a multitude of speeding tickets might have played into it )
it landed wheels down, so that might have helped me

There are pics out there of a Vert that rolled a few times on the highway, And the guy was fine IIRC.

if anything, verts have a lower center of gravity, right? even though they are heavier.

Yeah lower center of gravity, And an integrated roll bar/hoop in the windshield frame down to the floor.

I figured that something would be better than nothing

If i had to roll my car, i would do it top up
