Sorry to see / hear about this.

I was recently mounted from behind (vehicularly) in my E30 Touring. It's been almost 3 weeks and I'm still waitiing for the insurance co.'s adjustor to Ok the claim. Mine was much worse (wrinkled P-side quarter + valance + tail gate) estimates about $7K to fix. Just a heads up to everyone who has a car that 's old, and, worth more than the book value - spend a few $$'s for a proper appraisal. It will be worth it's weight in gold when things like this happen.

Good luck wth the claim ...

go see a doc and a chiro then. in most states they pay 5% of the total medical costs in the claim. you hurt, so you should go see the dr reguardless, if you did do a perma fuck to your back , you want to know what is up. in the least you will get a free back crack and some massages out of it, that is always nice.

make sure that you tell the insurance company that you are going to see the dr because you are in pain when you do your over the phone statment. this will usually light a fire under them to get things rolling.

Learn to look more closely, then.

Der affe, I certainly have back pains this morning. Wonderful. I hope the whole car-being-from-another-state thing doesn't complicate it.

you need to start to work the medical end of it. go to your Dr complain of pain, visit the chiro and do the same. you don't have to go for 400 visits, just start the process. this will give you leverage with the insurance company when they shove it in dry. "well i have had some pain and have been to my Dr and a chiro" is a phrase that makes them cringe. they will usually throw out a dollar amount for the pain and suffering that may make up for the short commings in the car settlement.

it seems shady, but, that is the way that you need to be with the insurance company. they are going to try to screw you because you drive an old car.
btw the car will prob total because you are replacing at least 2 weld on panels and the age of it.

WTF, That really sucks Kronos. Your cars was looking so good.

I got rear ended in my vert when I was stopped at a stop sign. The 16 year old girl said her "flip flop got stuck on the pedal." I was devastated as I sat in the car getting ready to take a look. Luckily it was at slow speed and before I got the Euro bumpers. No damage except scrapes on the bumper rubber. I am terrified to drive my car after that.

Good luck with the insurance claim.

Who cares if they total it? Hammer it out and drive it.

I got in an accident where a guy turn a corner a bit sharp(confused on which way to turn) and into my lane at a T intersection on a residential street. I avoided by going into his lane to avoid head-on while he realized and corrected and we hit off center head-on.

    Insurance - AllState
    him - full coverage
    me - liability

    They claimed
my fault - (so no repairs on mine repair his) I challenged it
both at fault - (so no repairs on mine repair his) I challenged it
his fault - (paid me(totaled) repaired his)

They can/will play the game to their advantage...

You shouldn't have as much issue as it sounds if was her fault which most rear enders are, challenge them if you don't like the settlement.

    Good luck
