    E30 w S5x autocross fun?

I know an S5x would be fun around the cones, but I think this would make the e30 under the street modded class which is more comp I think and less fun than being around the STXs for example. Is it still worth an S5x around the cones or is the track a better place to release?

Are you trying to have fun or be competitive? If the latter, at a regional, divisional, National level?

There's really only one class (Street Prepared) and even then you aren't going to win except maybe locally.

If you really want to be competitive in Auto-X I would suggest a different car than the E30.

regionally you could be competitive in SM if you are a good driver. Nationally isn't really in the realm of most of us.

I've seen many swapped cars that weren't very fast.. bad drivers. Then I've seen stock E30s wup on everyone. So don't think that just because you have a swap that you're going to be faster, or slower than somebody else.

I have gotten faster sence doing my swap but not enough to justify the cost of it. It all depends on your skill level.

For the most part it appears, that E36 M3's are still the fast cars in STX and Modded class.

For me auto-x is just fun practice.

You mean Boeing west parking lot? Sadly, it's no longer in use, company isn't allowing usage for autocross anymore.

yeah, I used to go there all the time - nobody with an E30 ever showed in the 3-4 years I went except a couple local buddies.

Really? I didnt know that. I havent gone there in about a year or so. I guess I have to drive further now

I have only seen one other e30 there when I would go.

Most of my driving at Boeing was in my former WRX and 328i, and mostly at private practices :pimp:

I was thinking of starting to get competitive. What about swapped e30s in BMWcca? How do those go about? My e30 is still stock with billies and H&R race, khumo XS in 225/45-16 and e36 m3 rack and only one e36 has beat my times at the last 4 scca events ive gone to.
