Guys that are running Coil packs

So maybe its the fact that both Ford coil packs were used, but the last two coils are NOT being very friendly with me lately.

My Megasquirt install guy, placed a used unit in there ( motorcraft brand ) and I ran it for just shy of 3k miles.....car was coughing a week ago with AFRs all over the place....replaced it and everything felt great !...now with this one, its doing it again after 3 days of use =(

very low idle, car nearly dies when I give it gas ( not dead cold, but 2 minutes after start-up ) , took it around the block and when Im 3/4 throttle, it feels like power...less power, power kicks in, less power and so on.

I asked my good buddy Richard to meet up in the afternoon with his 88 M3 and use his coil to find out what the deal is....Im hoping it is that so I could buy a fresh new unit =(

Anyone experience this when using coil packs?

    ........ugh =/

Doesn't really sound like a coil issue honestly. sounds like a bad tune.

    Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

the software has been thouroughly tuned with idle at 14.2 - 14.8 and WOT at 12.4 - 12.9 so its not the tune...Im pretty sure I know now what the culprit is, I'll report back what it turns out to be :)

bought a brand new coil and still the same results.

              Im guessing its wiring

clue: the Innovate controller reads error 040 pump open so I think the sensor went out....SUPER weird.

Im going to head to the shop that installed it and have him take a look.

need it fixed before friday since Ill be needing it to pick up Saul's roll cage in San Diego

              =/

                what's your running dwell?

are you using an EDIS module or firing them directly?

                  fixed !

turns out some of the wires going to the pins on the back of the box over time became loose. Soldered it up and put a new connector and the car hauls much ass now ! :D :D

                  Yes I am running EDIS.

Thanks for all the help guys.

EDIS eliminates the need for a dwell value. It does it by itself.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

I know, that's why I asked if he was using EDIS. ;)
