If someone were to say, kill an oil pan or wish to go rediculously low, is there a preferred oil pan for the m20? I looked around but couldn't find any definite answers. Worst case scenario some fabbing can be done to shorten up an oil pan I guess. :drink:

I don't know about any different m20 pans, but member ejnight sells an m20 skidplate here: http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=111469 (unsolicited plug)
At least that would be my logical first step if I wanted to install some rediculous low on my car... -
I know about skidplates, but I'm interested in going even lower than skidplates and stiff spring rates. I'm talking about getting this thing on the ground.Jah bless! :pimp:Comment

hahaha, nice. I'm still thinking about having my pan cut and welded though, looking to have the whole car on the ground, maybe use an early "i" front valance and still look close to scraping.Jah bless! :pimp:Comment

may i ask why? that just doesnt seem very functional at all.
EDIT: post up pictures of your car because all the threads you created have almost nothing to do with your car. Just so we know what you're working with like wheels, suspension, etc.Last edited by namsayin; 08-21-2009, 11:04 PM.

To be different. I don't have any good pics, I'll snap some tomorrow. Right now the suspension is pretty much stock but I've got plans for it, just need the funds. Currently overhauling the interior but suspension is next on the list.
I can't wait until I can drop it on the wheels in my backyard. Going from torn up weaves to 15x7.5 et0 Konig Bbombs. Flame away.Jah bless! :pimp:Comment

If you're going to fab up a oil pan, look into picking up an accusump. Pretty much it's a pressurized tank that holds oil. If your oil pressure is lower than normal it forces oil into your engine. Smaller pan is less oil, obviously, so you might want to look into this so you can make up for the volume you've lost, with remote placement.Comment

Sounds like a plan, I was considering "trapezoiding out" a pan to make up for the volume loss but I might go your route now, the engine bay is looking rather empty now without the AC, wiper fluid junk, etc. so there's a plentiful amount of room to play with.If you're going to fab up a oil pan, look into picking up an accusump. shortening the oil pan is the dumbest thing ive heard since rig tried to lower his mobile home by putting all the plumbing inside. you can slam any e30 low enough where its barely driveable with a proper skid plate. you have to retain certain steering geometry or it handles like shit once you get past a certain pointComment

Fuck you dude, it's not a "mobile home" it's a "trailer".............shortening the oil pan is the dumbest thing ive heard since rig tried to lower his mobile home by putting all the plumbing inside. you can slam any e30 low enough where its barely driveable with a proper skid plate. you have to retain certain steering geometry or it handles like shit once you get past a certain point
Or, if you're really baller, it's a "double wide".
