    Porsche 914-6 content inside...

Saw this downtown while out riding last night, and just about fell off my bike rubber-necking as I went by. This car was concours-perfect. I could not find a single flaw on it. I will bet money that this is probably one of the cleanest 914-6's ANYWHERE.

Stopped and snapped a few pics. Enjoy.

I drove a 914-6 before. My neighbor had one. I loved the car. Killed me when he sold it for some semi-new-but-not-really boxster.

my old neighbor in north providence had one in silver. it's also important to note that he had one of the first year 914-6's and only 20k on the clock on his garage kept car.

Metal flares or replica? Many just make em look to -6 replica. Highly doubt if it was real it was left on the street over night.

Nice car, I'd drive one. Got to drive an early 4 cylinder variant some time ago, oversized go kart better than a Miata at the time with proper upgrades and with added engine tweaks very fun.

Oh but they can be fast, have seen some ludicrous speed twin plug turbo 914-6 cars done. They are great for auto-X short wheelbase and low cg.

like was said before, clean car, not concourse though. the b pillar should be covered on vinyl, not painted (i painted mine, i think it looks better that way); not all 914-6 had the flares it was std on the GT and if you had enough $ could be ordered as an option. most likely those were fiberglass add on flares. maybe fiberglass bumpers or the chrome was painted (lower portion) IIRC you could not get them in black on the 914-6 and the GT/GTS. came with different front bumpers.

still a nice clean car though.

comming from a 914-6 owner though, they are nice, fun, primative, cars. the orginal 2.0, while fast for it's day, is kind of meh for today. i have the 2.4 190hp euro S motor (mechanical injected ITB's) in mine (the same motor that came in the 914-6 GT/GTS). it is better, but my BMW is faster and has way better torque, making it more fun to drive. the brakes were scarry when you needed to slow down in a hurry unless you did some work to them. if you put K&N filters and a good exhaust/header combo they sound like an old grand prix car (it'll make you turgid just reving the motor!)

you are also motorcycle invisable to cars, and it gets worse when you lower them (of course mine is).

if you ever make it to scottsdale, Josh, i'll take you for a ride in it.

Excellent! We are getting ready to get cranking on my buddy's 914 build.

Turbo WRX motor + monster flares = fucking win.

it's nice, but it's also time to take off that front brake.
