      I have no idea about to total % of ones with LSD, but of the people i know personally, maybe 8 m42s including mine, only 4 have the lsd from the factory...

        I believe this to be true.. I've seen it done..
        you dump the clutch (not necaceray at high RPM) in top gear and if the car slowly starts moving.. the clutch will be slipping like all hell.. and if so its screwed (or toast)

        was it slipping when you tried this..?

            Heated seats were mentioned in the first post, not sure if it's a factory option...

            My LSD was factory, so at least I was lucky in that.
            The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

                  concider yourself lucky to have no sunroof, i had to take mine out, cassette and all and that thing is HEAVY, especially since its on the top of the car, its a good place to loose weight, id rather do without

                    I have a 91 318is with no sunroof, check panel, or foglights, although it has power everything else. I always assumed it had an LSD. How can I tell if it's one of the lucky few with a factory LSD??
