It's 2460# with full trim, hard to believe that's what your 3.2 car weighs!     You are right. But seeing your 318is reminds me that I enjoyed that car as much as, if not more than, my 3.2l car.     Hardly anything felt fast when I daily drove the 3.0 24v car, so I know just what you mean. E36 M3's felt like dogs, mostly because of the weight of the car and the flywheel; they just arn't potent like the 24v E30. When you drive a 318is/325is everyday you don't necessarily think it's a slow car, but when you daily a 290+hp 24v, different story.
