Bogus Bimmers

anyone ever find themselves in a situation to buy/look at a bimmer that the seller or friend or whoever tried to increase the value by saying it was in some form rare and/or expensive?
when i bought my car the PO said it had rare "euro spec" reverse lights, in actuality he had replaced the reverse light with yellow bulbs. (which im pretty sure is illegal). don't worry i promptly replaced them.

we have seen the "alpina" X5 and countless ///M badges on 84' 318i's, anyone out there have a particularly funny experience involving Bogus Bimmers? please share

I saw an ad onetime that described an e30 as being rare because it was imported from Germany...might have seen it on here.

Was talking to my friend and he said he was just near the dealer and saw a new 325iS... I told him there was no IS model anymore just 325i, 335i, 328i, 135i, and he insisted he saw it said 325is. Dealer screw up.
