Lug nut solutions?

I've only had this car a week, and if getting the wheel off was any indication- I'm in for a hell of a ride.

The aftermarket 17" wheels have allen head lug nuts and studs holding them on. Allen heads!!! What asshole thought using allen heads for lugs was a good idea? Shmuck.

I bet you can't guess what happened? Yep. The last one. Round as a ball.

I did manage to remove it, and I ordered some original style lug bolts. Of course, they didn't fit the hole in the wheels... AHA! Now I understand the allen head lugs.

I'm done with that mess. I need a small diameter lug bolt, or a spline drive lug bolt, or something. Surely, there's one solution that works the best. What are you guys using?

Bimmerworld sells small 17mm hex lug nuts, fyi.

You need Tuner lugnuts, something like this:

Haha... Those are the pieces of crap that got me into this mess. By the time I had the wheels off, I was ready to choke slam a small puppy....

Thanks for finding the site for me. In case you were thinking about using them- Don't. They suck. The key twists, and the lugnuts round off. Run away. :)

I found Gorilla's website, and they have lug bolts with small heads. I think those are the ticket, unless someone's got a better idea.

I have gorrillas for a set of Rotas but they are the same style as these, a kinda modified/offset allen. Haven't had any issues with them for what is't worth

A lot of the aftermarket (especially Japanese made) rims the holes are too small in the rims to take take stock style lugnuts/bolts.

These tuner lugs from Gorilla are what I am using on my rx7. I am sure they make them in the right size for the E30 too.

the seat faces should always be the same. you just have to use a chrome socket instead of an impact socket. i've even seen this with cheap american racing wheels.

The gorilla ones I posted were spline drive type, need the special socket that comes with them to torque them down.

I know many on this forum have nice wheels and there must be a way people are locking their wheels. Is there a set if of lug nuts that lock that are quite popular right now?

I got them because I needed new smaller lugs for my new wheels, these are slimmer by design and also essentially every lug is a lock nut. Not many people have the spline drive sockets and wouldn't be able to remove the lugs without it. Plus they look great and work just as well as regular lugs.
