So I got the Weber 38 and cleaned it up and installed it. Struggled with the lockstrip for a while tonight and am having a bit of trouble getting it in. I removed the window and tried to do it but the thing is such a bitch and I ended up giving up after 30 minutes and lots of cursing. Any tips on that?

Also having a bit of trouble with the pin on the brake pedal in the pedal box. Thing is seized and no matter how much penetrating oil and force i use I cant get it to budge. Any ideas? Maybe a little heat from a heat gun? I'm stumped.

Lube up a finger and run it through the slot just ahead of the lock strip as you are sliding it in, kinda like.... well you know.:)

I got the lock strip in but have been struggling for hours to get the stupid windows in. Would you be able to come help me install the front and back before I start throwing more tools across the yard? I will send you home with quite a few bottles of wine for the help! This is easily the most difficult and frustrating thing I have ever done on a car. You could not pay me enough to ever do it again. It is such a simple concept. Pop the window in using the rope trick, go slow, make sure it is centered...

I'm sure my neighbors think I am fucking maniac after yesterdays attempt.

On a lighter note I have removed the pedal box and am cleaning up the floor boards and re building that today. At least one thing on the car is going well.

Quit using rope for one, use a thin piece of wire ( like one half of the crappy speaker wire you buy some car speakers ) wrap it around TWICE and lube the crap out of the seal. Center the window and have a buddy place about 5 pounds of even pressure ( use both hands ) on the glass from the outside once you have it centered, you just need to get the seal started all the way around. Get out of the car and gently thump the window working around the edge as you go, it'll walk all the way in a little at a time. Don't whack it very hard, if you try to jam it all in a once you WILL crack your window.

It's really quite easy to do. I'll be missing for about 3 weeks, heading to Fiji in 4 days.
