sounds like you've got enough on your hands, and everyone should be capable of owning and maintaining their own car, with the repercussions of not doing so being taking the good old two-foot express. walking everywhere can be a great motivator for taking care of your vehicle. this seems to work for most people, including wives & kids, i did it and i still do. maintain my cars that is, not walk.
Yeah, walking and taking the bus was a good motivator for me to get a car in the first place and when I only had 1 car to drive, I'd work my ass off to get it fixed before the next day of school because I never wanted to take the bus again. It IS a good motivator.
thats one of my biggest pet peevs, parents giving vehicles to there kids... they abuse the privledge, bag the shit out of them and dont care because its not there car and daddy can fix them.... when i got my first car i had to buy it my self... it was a pos 86 accord rust everywhere... but i learnt to treat it with respect, when it broke i fixed it..... one day i sold it and thats when i got into e30s.. i never bag my e30s, i bought a bentley manual and learned how to fix everything myself..... my .2cents... not saying your kids take advantage of you... but lots do.
