    but if it is- run that to something in your hi-fi setup with coax in and s-video out... A/V amp, for instance... bada bing :)

      What ever the outputs are called. My stereo and computer and tv have s-video in and outs so I was debatting getting this so I can recorde my Own Box set of Seinfeld and the rest of my favorite TV shows.
      i dont think your video card will have a S-video input jack, and even if it did, you would need new software to record video from your tv/dvd. also, s-video does not transfer sound and will probably give you a slightly hazy picture. what i was suggesting is that you plug (or split) your cable that goes into the tv and send it to your computer by using an internal tv tuner with an RF jack. The Hauppauge tv tuners come with very good software (pause/record live tv, interactive channel guide, etc) for recording tv, the picture will be better than s-video, and you will get good sound quality. the tuner pictured below, hauppauge pvr-250mce, is only $95.
