Car runs super rich post motor swap - ideas?

I put a new m20 in my 90 325is after my old motor got flooded. The car will start up and stay running if I manipulate the gap pedal - but it won't idle at all. Also, I'm getting a pretty heavy gas odor out of the exhaust. Anyone have any ideas? I swapped the wiring harness and TB off of the old motor.

    TIA

+1. Make sure you replace the one for the ECU and not the gauge cluster :)

The ones in the radiator are just on/off switches.

No, I was just saying make sure you replace the right sensor as one is for the ecu and another for the temp gauge.

when mine comes loose (due to bad connector) car will run rich and not idle

Since the car flooded is it possible that the AFM is fried?

very likely considering how craptastic they are to start out with, especially if the car injested water.

Swapped AFM made no difference. I'm wondering if I mixed up the fuel line and the return.

How's your o2 sensor? Do you have a cylinder not firing?

02 sensor stayed on the car - it was newish. The FPR is from the 60k motor - I heard it run when I bought it.
