    Lowering... Eibach or H&R???

Hey all some of you are following my complete 1988 325iC restoration project here http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=144754 and I am now wanting to lower the car to complete the exterior package. I read reviews on Tirerack and they seem to like the ride and performance of the Eibach a little better. They are about the same price and drop the car by about the same amount. Any experience you can relay?

Here's a couple pics of the ride...

    Thanks-
    Brian

I haven't driven a car w/ H&R springs, but I have the Eibach pro-kit w/ bilstein sports and for a DD it's not bad, gives a decent stance, firms things up a little bit and is still wife approved;) See my sig for how it sits

      Beautiful Ride!

I use Eibach Pro-Kit springs and anti-sway bars & Bilstein sport shocks. I love the ride I get from the kit. I drive the car 80miles round trip per day to work and back... and I really really look forward to that daily commute. :)

Try to get at least new rear shock mounts when you do your suspension upgrades.

I've never personally dealt with Eibach, but one of the only big complaints I hear about them is that they are too soft.

          Thanks for the compliment!

Where did you get the whole package from? I can get the Eibach springs at Tirerack for $230 and they are 40 min away. Where is the best place to buy Bilsteins?

im on eibach's and they give a really nice stance, but way too soft of a spring. not too bad as a daily driver, still comfortable on the freeway and in city. But if say you wanted to take an off ramp fairly fast or take it out on a autocross one day. your going to feel a lot of body roll. cant really see my stance on my sig, but you get the idea..

so in my point of view, go H&R

One thing to keep in mind, Im more of a cruiser with occasional hot rodding... I'm happy with the way it handles now. I just hate the look.

then eibach might be the way you want to go then. you'll like the stance. might have to watch some dips and your oil pan.

Both H&R Sports and Eibach Sports are soft....since you just want to lower the car and it's a DD you'll be happy with either set. I would just confirm how much of a drop you'll get with each set to pick the right ones.

eibach pro kit springs are 100% definitely softer than h&r sports. based off the set of each that i've had. things could have changed. they are not so low that they are too soft though. if its all about comfort, the h&r sports might let you down. they are still quite firm compared to a normal car. personally i have long since settled on h&r race unless i go full coilovers.

h&r. ive eaten curly fries stiffer than eibachs. but if itss abot comfort then either will be fine

I have H&R on my IX and love it. Had Eibachs on my IS a few years ago and was not happy with it.

                              Vogtland is junk imo.
