Car got broken into last night

And I know that everyone will call me an idiot for not taking the expensive stuff inside, but I was so burnt out from the SATs Saturday that I didn't think twice about it.

Some kids broke into my car last night and stole my radar detector ($39 piece of crap from WalMart), my guitar (Taylor 314ce, VERY expensive) and a saxophone I had in the back, both hidden under a mountain of stuff for that very purpose (I was packed to go play a show Monday).

    Car was locked and everything.

I go out today to find the driver's door isn't closed all the way (when you push the door closed, if you don't give it an extra little shove it sits slightly above flush with the body), and I KNOW I closed it all the way because it leaves the interior light on if you don't and the battery will die. I sit down, and I don't even notice my detector's gone until I drive past the usual store (Walgreens) that makes it beep like a motherfucker. I didn't hear the beep, look up and notice it's gone.

Thinking I may have left it somewhere at home, I thought nothing of it and went over to my friend's house to finish up his MR2's 3S-GTE swap. Got home tonight (about an hour ago), go back to the back to get my shit out, lift up my homemade "shelf" and car cover to get it out and NOTHING is there. NOTHING. No sax, no sax case, no guitar or guitar case, NOTHING. Keep in mind this is a hatchback car that was completely locked up and there's not a single sign of anything being tampered with.

I didn't hear shit last night, and they only took those three items. None of my cigarettes in the console, none of the cigars in the glovebox (a few CAOs), my calculator sitting in the passenger seat (TI-83+, about $100), nothing, not even the SAFC or anything.

I filed a report with WSPD and called my close personal friend who was a Lt. in the department and recently retired, so all avenues of finding it all are open. Hopefully something will turn up. I'm not too depressed, seeing as our insurance (claims adjuster, i guess) lady told us that it will all be covered. Thank GOD.

Well, I'm off to have about half a pack of cigarettes.

Anyone I catch stealing any of my belongings is subject to one (1) free ass-beating until they cannot walk.

I have a paintball gun under my desk, if I hear anything questionable outside there WILL be rape.

Shame I can't keep my AR-15 out in the open (it's in the safe right now), otherwise there'd be a lot more than rape... we're talking defacation on the ground by some panicked thieves.

Apparently mine was... no clue why, both doors and the hatch were locked.

Yeah, list was $1,899 when I bought it, and our insurance company insures the full list value. :) So looks like it's time for an upgrade.

Way to find a bright side. If they give you all that it might make up for the annoyance of all the bullshit.

I'm surprised I'm not depressed at all, I guess it's the fact that our "claims adjuster" lady told me that the full list value of both my guitar and sax would be reimbursed.

And I have a friend who is a music teacher and gets 50% off at the local music store.

                    Meaning, if I get 1900 for the guitar, 1900 x 2 = 3800. Looks like I'll be getting me a 914ce. :)

Maybe you should put some of that extra dough towards a good alarm system.

Fuck alarms. I'll take everything of value inside out of the car. If the car gets stolen, someone is fucking stupid.
