Attn: Whoever said they worked for an insurance company

If personal belongings are stolen out of a vehicle on your property (i.e. your home's driveway) is it covered by Homeowners' Insurance? If so, how is it reported? Are there any special "riders" or anything I should know about?

For people who don't know what happened to me, refer to the thread about my car being broken into.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

I think it is anything belonging to a houshold member. When I was 16 my new B-Day watch was stolen on a bus (while I had B-day money in my pocket to buy 500.00 worth of pads and equipment for my hockey league.) My Dad's homeowners insurance reimbursed me and I got a stereo.

You're gonna have to prove that you owned the items in the first place, then that they were stolen from you. Right? If it were any easier, my Picasso collection would have been "stolen" from my car long ago.

I have paperwork for everything in the car except the 39 dollar radar detector, and with the money I *hopefully* would get from the guitar and saxophone, I'd be adding a V1 to the list of to-buys anyway.

And yes, I have FULL records for the saxophone and the guitar, and so does the music store I bought it from. So does the company that made the guitar (warranty registration information).
