    Petit Lemans 2009

Effin' weather. Race was stopped around the 5 hour mark (normally a 10 hour -or- 1000 mile race, which ever comes first) due to heavy rain. It sucks....I was looking forward to watching it. But I guess this is one of those unavoidable things in life.

BTW, Pugeot was declared the winner with their 1-2 finish (or positions) they held when the race was halted.

Big let down, but that track is notorious when it comes to raining. Just not possible to drive.

Yep, I went this year, fucking sucked. Yesterday was fun though.

I would have been pissed if I went out there for that. Road Atlanta is suicide in the rain though.

It is. All in all, it was still a load of fun to go. The most irritating part were the goddamned announcers that babbled on for HOURS after they called the red flag.

My buddy Matt Bell was driving a GT2 Corvette. His first drive in that car (he drives a Koni GS Turner M3). I haven't talked to him since the race, but I'm pretty sure he's bummed about it being cut short.

everyone was pretty unhappy about the whole thing. Acura just got one of their prototypes back on the track for about 2 laps before the red flag was pulled.

I was at the race, The weather was not all that bad until just before the red flag. I knew the race wasn't going to restart after that so I left.

So they canceled it? I tuned in for the first few hours, went outside to work on a friend's car, then came back in to Mosport replay. I tuned in again around 7pm, but NASCAR was on (of course). I didn't realize that they pulled the plug on it. Shame.

The fam and I went there as well. The race sucked due to the monsoon, it would have been nice to see the Pugs and the Audis fighting it out in a little bit of rain, but this shit was a mess. It was a shame that McNish's hiccup led to Peugeot getting a 1-2 finish, but at the same time it was neat to see them get a win; I'm sure that will change Audi's mind about not going to the Sebring 12H race.

The BMW corral was pretty impressive though, two E34 M5's (including my father's), an E36 325is M-Technic (the first I have seen in person,) some heavily modified E90 M3 from UUC Motorwerks, and many others. It was awesome to see RLR get a class podium finish too.

I wasn't at the race but I passed Braselton on I-85 around 5:15 and it was a monsoon. Traffic was running 40-45mph for quite a while. There were a few wrecks roadside on I-85, saw an early 325es/is that spun and went to the ditch about 20ft from the shoulder.
