    Strange! Saw a Porsche GT4?

My buddy was at home in New York, and saw a post 2000 Porsche with a GT$ emblem on the back. I haven't heard of any GT4 except for back in the sixties. Does Porsche or any aftermarket company like Ruf produce this GT4? It had a fixed wing at the back like the X50 package or the turbo. If you know anything send me an email. JDD089@aol.com.
    Thanks!

      Rob's right, no GT4.

2000? hmmmm....... typin as i think. GT3 is the NA track monster, GT2 Turbo god.....

      There's a Carrera in my town, It's a 996 with a name with a 4 and a C or and S......
The Carrera 4 is the four-wheel drive model.

      Vehicle tested: 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera 4
Models covered: Coupe, Cabrio, Carrera, and C4

Vehicle tested: 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera
Models covered: Coupe, Cabrio, C4, C4S and Turbo
]So models that actually exist are GT2, GT3, C4, and the new C4S......

The owner might added the "GT" as bullshit. But GT4 does not exist!

That would be the Carrera 4S as shown by my friends car here. (Thats me with it the day it was leased) When his lease is up, he is seriously thinking about a GT3.

The Carrera 4S first re-appeared in 2002. It has the Turbo bodywork sans airscoop in the quarters. (widebody, turbo front bumper, and slotted lower rear quarters. There is also a red reflective strip between the taillamps only on the 4S) The 4S also gets the turbos 4 piston brembo brakes and larger discs as well as the turbo's suspesion setup. It's basically a 911 turbo without the turbo but all the other equipment.

            yeah i thought it was 4S....But i wasn't sure.
here is the car I saw......and had to snap a picture:

As far as GT3 - they are frigging badass. I loved a Top Gear Video (I think) I saw which compared it to the GT2. SWEET.

It'd probably go for the GT2 personally.........but rather than that buy a Turbo, delete the front wheel drive part, remove the rear seats, and put all the savings into the motor. It's recommended in european car to modify the Turbo rather than buy a GT2. But there's a lot more to a GT2 or GT3 than horsepower..... like KILLER brakes, aerodynamics, and handling.........

Like I said on another thread....... I'll build my weekend-warrior, daily driver E30 through college. Then get my 740iL......then when i'm 50, my GT2.

Yeah. My buddy said the car looked just like that green one, with a fixed wing and vents on the sides of the rear valence. I dunno what the GT4 was about but thats just what the car said. Does the Carrera 4S actually say GT4 or is that just some strange emblem the guy stuck on there?
