how many are left i wonder? anyone have a good guess? i think we as enthusiasts are diluted as to how many there actually are because it seems like there are a lot when youre on a message board with numerous cars.. whens the last time you saw one on the street when you wernt at a show of some sort? i might see a couple a year when just out and about. obviously there are more than 50 but i wonder how many..

Of the 17,xxx or so cars produced there were 5000 imported to the US. Of the 5000, a few were converted to track only cars over the years and the rest were for public use on the road. Given the nature of the car, many people tracked them, autox, or just plain drove them hard which makes them more susceptible to accidents. If I had to guess, I'd say 2500 are left, give or take. We tried to get as many as we could in the BMWMregistry but there's barely a few hundred cars on there. No one really knows how many are left but we see that prices have gone up because there aren't as many on the market. Less supply due to less cars in general or more people holding on to them? Probably a bit of both.

I believe the 50 reference is to how many Henna colored E30 M3s are left.

Which is probably not true, because of the 140 Hennas originally built, 250 are still in existance. :)

And the weight is not 2,500lb, but just under or at 2,700lbs. :) :)

Nice car, but too modded for my tastes.
