    nitrous?

    do you guys think using NOS is a bad thing and not worth it? I called BAVauto yesterday to get a price on a new bottle and was told not to use it because theres other (safer) things I could do to get the same results. What do you guys think? Pros/cons?

          no moreso just fot the occasional pick me up and just for fun. I already have the system though so I`m wondering if it`s worth using? Or would I do more harm than it`s worth?

                    it prob is here too but I`d be willing to take the chance from time to time for a cheap thrill. Does anyone else here run NOS in there E30? What do you think about it?

                      Sounds kind of dangerous in a 19 to 24 year old car. Why would you do that to your Euro? I hear its not good for most engines. Get some jap shit to do that with. Sounds cool tho cuz e30's are sweet.

                        I may get flamed for this but I'll say it anyway. There is nothing inherently wrong with using nitrous as a power-adder. The problems start arising when people don't approach it as a power-adder system, much like one would when adding forced induction. If you build your engine to use it you should be fine. If you throw a system on there as a "pick me up" it will be just that. (as in "Hey, can you pick me up? My E30 just took a crap") A properly planned, executed, tuned & monitored system will be very reliable. But no one wants to spend the money on that, since it will cost about as much as a good turbo setup.

                            go turbo. for all it worth your better off with a turbo set up. you can go nos but its a short power gain and you'll want more and then you start in with to much of the stuff and you blow your pistons. its a cheaper way to get a small power jump for a small amount of time, and like said above if you build your motor youll be fine, but you may as well just go turbo at that point anyway.

                              This! I don't see why not, if you are willing to take small steps with it, and work it up methodically, there's no reason it should be completely ignored. See this E46 for an example of well done nitrous on a BMW (Don't catch yours on fire, though)
