help!!! brake caliper snapped off after dust plate caught and mangled

    Loctite,awesome,yeah the bolts were sheared off, so I guess they were overtorqued and didn't hold tight enough when I engaged the brakes.
    Just happy it wasn't worse.

      bolts could have been loose as well, putting extra stress on the hardware

          i don't quite get what you want help with. it is kind of obvious what happened, and as fare as a fix you just need to replace everything. looks like you did some sub slandered work and payed the price for it. sorry man.

            Nah, the 20 gauge backing plate is totally strong enough to shear grade 8 bolts and rip the caliper and brake line off.

              the backing plate doesnt spin, it would just rattle like a mofo. you would now if that came loose.
              if the caliper bolts fell out (which is probable happened) when the brakes were applied again, caliper grabs on to rotor thus spinning around ripping backing plate & ripping brake line off.
