which car should get the new engine???

since I'm here right now I may as well put one more post up. Here's my delema. I have my daily driver 88 cabrio and an 87 IS (parts car) The cabbie is starting to rot out on the front fender bottoms, the rear trunk pockets and a few other small spots here n there on the body. The 87 IS seems to be for the most part rust free. The drivers side front fender is dented and needs to be replaced, The chrome accents need to come off as I'm not a big fan of those, the interior is EH and could prob use new seats in the front and a new center console, the dash is ok and not cracked. The motor is smoked though due to the previous owner blowing it up with the nitrous that was on it (so I'm told anyway) I haven't tried myself to get it running yet. But the 87 does have all the goodies in it IE: suspension, brake lines, body kit, wheels ect ect. Which I orig intended swaping over to the cabbie. I have a custom stroker engine in my garage that is almost done which was also intended for the cabbie but now I'm thinking mabey I shouldn't bother putting it in the cabbie due to the rust issue and instead drop it in the 87 IS? What do you guys think which car should get the heart transplant? Is it worth chasing the rust? personally I like the idea of the cabie better and once the engine is in I intended on it only being a summer car and getting stored for the winters. But shit man the rust! OH the fucking rust!!! is it even worth it now??????????

here's a link to pics of both cars and the engine sorry cabbie pic is dark shitty day outside.

Im gonna say the 87. Both of them need some work, but less on the 87

The coupe weighs several hundred pounds less than the convertible. If you want to go fast, put it in the coupe.

Id put it in the vert because the coupe is hideous. And the paints going to be fucked when you peal that crap off.

Sounds like there is a lot of cancer in the vert, I say go for the coupe, but that would be my opinion even if the vert were perfect, I'd still say to go for the coupe...I prefer hardtops. But I'd also suggest getting rid of all the chrome trim....fender lips and bottom of the doors etc...

Go with the coupe, 100%! get rid of that chrome, clean up the paint and swap that rear bumper and you've got a nice car!

go for the coupe, verts are meant for cruising... hard tops are made to go fast :)

Seems like a toss up. Just looking at the pics, though, my reaction is go all-in with the cabrio. Great color, already looks pretty good from 30 feet and 72dpi away. Obviously I have a thing for cabs, so discount accordingly.

If you really do like the is, swap it in there. Then you'll have two drivable E30s. The is can look good with a bit of work, and cabrios are more cruisers anyway.
