    Lowered the front A LOT.

    Not by choice however! Damn springs perch snapped off pulling into 7-11. Guess I'm glad it decided to break here rather than 20 mins earlier when i was at 100mph on i95. My oil pan is now 1" off the ground. This was the last thing i expected to happen to me so I figured I'd start this worthless thread as a warning for other people to check their perches before something really nasty happens to them.

    Luckily it didn't rip my brakeline apart, getting it towed today.

      The struts are kyb/ vogtland springs, they look hella dirty but their only a year and a half old. But that wasn't the culprit, it was the rusted out tube.

              Shock insert didn't cause the spring perch to fail.

                  This seems pretty ridiculous, this is the right part correct?

                    yes. just get a used pair off of the right sized E30 parts car. some people will charge $150++, but more realistic people might pass them around for like $40

                          it is if it is that lower spring perch that broke... looks like it to me. However, I have one at home that I can sell to you. It's out of a '89 325is though so ill have to check compatibility. I wouldnt want much at all for it, so if it is the right one, we'll figure something out.

                              325is = 51mm strut insert

                              the only skinner ones are like early 318i's and possibly etas. late model 325is will be what he wants.
