    Fikse gone under?

I know there's a pretty strong PNW presence on here, anybody know what is going on at Fikse? It's not looking too good......

996 GT2/GT3 Forum - Problems with Fikse? - Hey folks, Is anybody else having issues with Fikse not returning calls? I bought a set of Profil 10's with black centers and polished outers and I had a couple of issues with the rear. The first time, a couple of the bolts that hold the wheels together broke on the left...

I placed an order through VAC in July (!) for some FM/10s, and communication gradually began to taper off. After the third or fourth time of hearing two more weeks, and hearing that Jim Fikse told Steve at VAC that he was going to call me personally and never did was enough for my patience, and I canceled mid-October. It took VAC doing a credit card charge-back to get my deposit back!

I hope no one on here has an order in, or wheels out for service.......

They are gone now. Shop is all closed up now and no one is inside. My father was going to buy a set but they are closed now.

Many well known American companies have gone belly up in the past 6 months. It is sad to see another one bite the dust...

I agree. Fikse made a fantastic, beautiful product that was worth the money. Sad to see this happen.

This is the exact reason that all of these companies are going under. Everybody now has the mentality that if someone else produces it cheaper, that company must be ripping people off. If you knew what it costs to manufacture something like that to quality standards, it is not out of line at all.

Just a little public service announcement....

Look at how and where the products you are buying are made. If you want to have good companies that make quality products to survive, then you have to support them. It's getting to the point where the consumer is left with fewer products every year that aren't made to shitty standards in China.

I am all for paying for top quality. Unfortunately there are way too many options out there and PRICE is probably the biggest determining factor.

Money has to go both directions. Buy an American-made product, the money you spent will come back to you in one form or another. Send it to China, say goodbye to local jobs...
