I think I'd still rather get a Porsche GT3 RS, if I wanted a car with a warranty.

Exactly how I've felt about LTW, CSL, and now this... M3 should be a sports car to begin with...

I think there's a disconnect between the broad whole of new M owners and BMW enthusiasts.

The fact is, most M owners are content to own a ballsy car that presses them into a sumptuous 115 lb heated and actively cooled seat with useless bolstering meant to hug a man with 42 inch hips, while never exceeding .65 G of cornering force. That's fine. That's what keeps the M division alive, financially.

GT3 RS costs $132k and has 450hp. You're just as out of touch as BMW.

The Best part I like is they removed most of the options that cost an arm and a leg and charge you more.

Oh wait they have a Carbon Ricer Rear Wing that would cost about 100K.

As stated before you could just buy a regular M3 and the money you save go to town on it.

M3 GTS totally worthless now with ring times

While not an "official" time, the blokes at Sport Auto hit the 'Ring with a flaming orange and nosebleed-expensive M3 GTS and managed a best time of 7 minutes 48 seconds. Pretty impressive. However, not so impressive considering the BMW M3 CSL did the deed in 7:50 in 2003 at a much lower asking price (and without the orange).
