was looking on realoem and it said that my 84 318i autohas a limited slip diff. i dont think it does, other than the metal tag which is no longer there, is there any way by looking that you tell if it is limited slip or not?

LSD spins in the same direction on both ends. Lift the rear of the car up and spin the tire.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

only if it was a quaif unit or a torson unit. they dont have clutches inside them to lock them up. they only lock up under power.
the quaif is bout $700 i last checked. thats just for the diff. they dont make torson units for e30's.

l.s.d
my rally bm has a standard 325 lsd and both wheels spin in the same direction this has been the same on the 5 i had before this one
don't know if you have them over there in the states but here you can get atlas plates to replace the standard bm ones
as in the atlas axle used in many rally carssigpic
e30 rallying for fun
sideways is the way forward
