Correct-a-mundo. I thought it was an early/late model thing. I can tell you none of my 89-91 cars ever had it.

But he says he has an '88 iS, and I just parted an '88 iS out, and the door cards have the crank handle covers.

I just picked up an 88is which doesn't have the crank covers. I believe it was built in early 88 (April). Maybe early 88's did, late didn't?

Now thats what I thought...(sorry to post whore).

I think... (not sure cause my 90 is in the shop).. it is a early/late thing. If you have an 88, that must be the year, one would assume that differentiates early/late, and I think that is correct, isnt it?

I know the 88 is sort of "in between" with the bumpers and other items. ie, the euro bumpers will fit PnP but not on a 87,which I suppose is the last of the "early" model.

So ...yours aint got it huh? Well..like I said, pull the door card and a hex ought to crank it manually.

            Good luck...stay dry!!

push clips around the outside, 2 phillips heads under the arm rest and one behind the mirror adjuster switch. Slide the door handle surround rearward (I think its rearward, might be forward)

Yeah, it's definately not rocket science. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes to get the door card out. And it only requires a set of screwdrivers.

To make order of E30SPDFRK's post

1-) Slide the door handle trim sideways and pull it out (just slides out)
2-) Pop rear view mirror button with a flat head
3-) Undo all 3 screws holding the armrest in place
                  4-) Remove arm rest
5-) With a flat head, pop out all the clips of the door card from the actual door by prying near their location in between the door and the door card (about 6-8 total on the sides and bottom)
6-) Slide door card up and it comes out :)

Now the window you will need a hex key to turn it up, and you're set.
