    oil too thick?

I'm currently using 20w-50 in my 318is and we just got our first snow yesterday. Went out this morning to try and start my car and it wont start? Lights turn on and the engine cranks, and wont catch. Wondering if the oil is too thick for this weather?

That's pretty heavy for that motor, period.

I run 5w30 synth in my m44, never had an issue in cold weather.

run a bit thinner, like Charlie siad 5w30, 10w30, 10w40, thickest would be 15w50 mobil 1/redline...

I have 15w50; I do want to run a much thinner oil next time around. I was just following the BMW temp chart in the Owner's Manual at the time.

Yeah, dude. WAY too thick for cold weather, especially for such a small motor.
