I'm currently using 20w-50 in my 318is and we just got our first snow yesterday. Went out this morning to try and start my car and it wont start? Lights turn on and the engine cranks, and wont catch. Wondering if the oil is too thick for this weather?

That's pretty heavy for that motor, period.
I run 5w30 synth in my m44, never had an issue in cold weather.
-CharlieSwing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

I have 15w50; I do want to run a much thinner oil next time around. I was just following the BMW temp chart in the Owner's Manual at the time. The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.Comment
