Because a fully adjustable wing on the back of a RWD, high powered, track car is complete rice. So is the orange paint for a track car, oh wait, aren't all race cars bright? I agree the price is steep for what it is considering the GT3 RS is cheaper and is it's direct competition but this is a barely street legal RACE CAR! if its too rice for you then go put some airbags and chrome dubs on your mk4 Golf.

OHHH i forgot this was a "race car". DUH what was I thinking.

            This is a race car.

This is douchebag driving his $170,000 caltrans orange, ricer winged M3 with a bunch of scafolding in the back seat, thinking he is a race car driver.

I have to hand it to BMW. They know how to sell a car. The margin on this thing is probably close to $100k

Edit: I may have been a little harsh in my previous comments. Most of the people on this site dont have good taste.

The e9x m3 in stock form is pretty fucking nuts, and the GTS is even more nuts. Oh, and FYI, it will not be available for American consumption hah. Fucking tree huggers.

I think it is ugly and overpriced, but it's a track car, it isn't supposed to be pretty. Every ugly part, with the exception of paint, is functional and that's what matters. It is a rich boys toy but that's as close as you can get to a full on race car while still being street legal. I would personally rather build my own track car but some people would rather order one track ready from the factory.

That's all well and good, but it could it could at least show the car take a pull and squeal around a corner or something. That whole video just left me wanting to see what the thing could actually do not what it does moving slowly breaking the rubber free.

There is nothing to stop BMW from doing it except their own stupid marketing people. I'm surprised they're not marketing a 4 door version yet with a bunch of scaffolding in the back.

$170,000 3 series. Think about it. If you could spend $170,000 on a car, how many other cars would you choose before this thing? Or here is a thought. But 2 regular M3s, have one stipped out and setup for track days, use the other as a daily driver. You still end up on top.
True. That's what I would do.
Although I'm not a big fan of exotics I wouldn't know what car to to buy with $170,000 I think I would do what that guy "biebrennere30" does and own like 10 bmw's lol
