      Cliffs that matter:

If you use a card to pay for something will hit the "cash back" button when you didn't ask for any, then pocket the cash. If you call them on it, they will usually blame the computer ("it's broken, it does that").

Check your receipt, and if there's cash back when you didn't ask for it raise hell. Call the supervisor and report the cashier.

Or just choose credit instead of debit. Problem solved, crisis averted, and I don't get these stupid fucking e-mails in my inbox.

i hate broken-ass credit card readers already, so of course there would be people taking advantage of them. we have many businesses around here that wont replace their touch screens, so whenever i press NONE on cash-back, the $60 or some shit registers like i pushed it. then i have to stand in line waiting and half the time they make me keep it because the person doesn't know how to fix it.

Thanks for the heads up. I know this problem is simple to solve by just checking your receipts, but most of us (including myself) don't even bother to look over it.

Oh my Grandpa sends me the same million forwards a day also but I've never seen this one before either.

No shit, I get emails all the time from Mom telling me about some scam that came about 10 years ago, or some email virus that attacks so and so.

The cash back thing is bullshit, at least at Wal-Mart. I worked there, there's no cash back button on the register.

                  also: http://www.snopes.com/fraud/atm/cashback.asp

                  research, motherfuckers! :hitler:

Now, if you don't forward this post to at least 5 forums, you will get aids. And Microsoft will give you $500. An email told me so.
