How long did you let it run with the new tensioner and chain slap noise? The motor needs to run for like 30 seconds for the tensioner to pump up and the noise to go away.

Ummm, at this point, like 1800 miles?

It didn't make any noise until after close to 1000 with the new tensioner.

replace the chain, gears, and rails. Shouldnt cost more than $200 in parts, takes an afternoon [with the right tools]
I would also like to know where I can get all the gaskets/sprockets/guide rails/timing chain/ etc for $200.

Best I've seen so far is from blunty and it's nearly double that.

PS, am I missing anything from the list?

Figure out what tension the chain needs: JB weld the adjuster in place.

Buy a battery charger and a bus pass.

Then, buy a big stereo from me, install it, and listen to it while you drive.

Your motor will grenade soon due to the incredibly shitty repair (honestly, why did you JB weld that shit, are you a retard?) but the stereo will drown it out for quite a while.

Now, since you bought a battery charger, you can still listen to the stereo while your car is sitting in the driveway.

Oh yeah, the bus pass will let you get you to work.

(J/K, except sounds like the bus pass is a good idea)

I got nothing on that motor issue...bummer, dewd.

                  Closing SOON!

I know! I've got an M20 with a fresh timing kit/belts/water pump/thermostat all that jazz sitting my dad's warehouse.

However, it also has a blown headgasket!
