I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the dynomax, just not sure which muffler to go with the ultra flow or the super turbo?
An exhaust question for 318is owners!

I got the super turbo. 2.25 offset inlet and offset outlet. They didn't have to do any custom fabbing really to make it fit. Just a pipe from the stock exhuast to the muffler, and a tip out.The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.Comment

Nice, how much did it cost you? Did they use a hanger or does it rattle?Originally posted by hamann318isI got the super turbo. 2.25 offset inlet and offset outlet. 40 for the muffler from www.summitracing.com. 35 installed with a tip. They welded some hook type hangers that hang the exhuast from the hooks on the car's body. There's one the side and one on the front of the muffler. I have never heard it rattle, but it does hang a bit lower than stock. I'm sure the hang can be fixed, I just didn't care enough to (I think it looks fine).Originally posted by Gonzo318isNice, how much did it cost you? I went with the magna flow muffler... a little more money $80 + $60 installed but well worth it compared to what a cat back sys. would cost! ;)Comment

2.5" or 2.25" inlet on the Magnaflow muffler?Originally posted by uofom3on my 318is i had a custom magnaflow 2.5 inch (i think) system from the headers back that the PO put on... he said a local muffler shop charged him like 400 for the whole thing.. it sounded pretty good, not obnoxious in traffic but burly when you're on it... might be a cheaper route to experiment withTrevor Ely

You can't go wrong with a Magnaflow for the money.
BTW, don't expect V8 sound from a m42.

You'll have to modify your valance a bit though.Trevor Ely
