E30 is IRS already.
Rear trailing arms hold power
2JZ's can make 600+hp on stock internals and 450hp on stock turbos.
2JZ is a wicked swap if you have a line on an engine. IMO I would rather have a 2JZ then a boosted M52 or S52 in terms of cost and reliability, even if it upsets the BMW God's.
The R154 tranny (N/A 5spd) should hold close to 500hp in an E30, and it fits in the tunnel with the shifter semi lined up (need to make the hole a bit bigger)
Do it! It would haul some ass and sound absolutly disgusting!
i know the e30 is irs, its the design thats the flaw. it wont put the power down, it doesnt connect that much. that is what im saying.
There are a few in Australia - x2 in Brisbane (the red one above and another one), x2 in Sydney plus a shitload more single-turbo 1JZ and SR20DET-powered E30s.
I can safely say that an LS1 is a better, easier swap though. The 2JZ really fucks up the front-end with the extra weight and how far that weight is carried in front of the suspension. The LSx engine is lighter, can make just as much power, but sits the weight in a better location...

look up e30-ls1. He did the conversion about as cleanly and professionally as possible. He has a build thread here and on bimmerforums, and I believe he's selling a "how-to" CD that details the steps he took to do it right.

I have no idea as I'm not in the USA.
Best bet would be to buy Garretvs (his username on here) CD as it is incredibly detailed and give that, plus an E30 and a wad of cash to a shop. I think Garret has said he spent in the region of $6k-$7k doing his swap - you would have to add shop labour to that, though.
