    Coming soon to Guten ITB's...

Met Kevin, owner of www.extrudabody.com a while ago when I was researching alternatives to Dbilas set up.

Not only a great guy but his stuff is amazing quality. A true car nut at heart. We will be working with him as his Northeast supplier as we have several customers who would like an ITB set up on their cars.

He just sent me these pictures of a e21 he picked up, it was suppose to be just a daily car, but he couldnt help himself...

Linkage is changeable from very quick response to Long and Controlled, by moving the Ball stud Joints from arm to arm . Same works on all his 4 and 6 Linkage systems with Standard size Injectors!

Another from the fitment testing. Will get video up of it running soon as testing complete.

        Awesome!

I talked to him a long time ago about setting up a group buy for everyone, but as usual no one wanted to commit.

QUality stuff, knowledgable guy. Have they finished their MegaSquirt altrenative yet?

Here is where they are on the management system...

The Electronics is still being "Dummy Downed" the software is so complicated we just do not want to release it to the General Public for that reason.

          Few highlights though!

          1. Fully sequential 4 and 6 cylinder, with no CAM sensor

          2. 30kpa at Idle on ITB's with no Vacuum Log, reads only 1 cylinder.

          3. Knock Control for 4 and 6 Cylinder Coil Packs!

          4. EOBD2 Port, for scanning sensors.

          5. 60-2 Crank sensor, or 120-2-2 Cam sensor Required.

Out of all the Electronics Companies at the PRI Show last week that we POLLED! NONE could match the Above features! Absolutely none!

This ECU is fully Emissions compliant to the toughest of today's standards, so to eliminate most of the code to make things understandable is very tricky and very time consuming!

This is a great development! I'm first in line. I'll be ready to start the project after the new year.

Levent, I assume someone though of the implications of an ITB/ECU setup that would cover M20, then swap to M/S 5X with only a change in wiring/manifold and mapping, right?

How much for that E36 manifold/ITB kit?

The problem is what is missing there: trumpets and plenums. I'd looked into this a while ago and it's clearly still an issue. An engine with that setup will take in enormous amounts of poorly filtered hot air.
As to the electronics being 'so complicated'... I'll be curious to see what they can come up with and keep my mouth shut before.

Trumpet lengths are adjustable from what I remember talking to him.

A poorly built plenum (ever actually researched how difficult it is to acheive equal airflow across all cylinders, done any flow analysis on designs, etc?) will be worse then then sucking in engine compartment air.

BMWs are not new to Kevin, he has MXX and SXX applications already. He and his company truly are not well known other then in a small car enthusiast community. This is why we are working with them to bring them to a larger audience.

Luke, pricing is on their site...

Luigi, they are a complete shop, they have everything. Hang tight for details on the complete set up...

Buddy, they use cads and engineering to ensure proper fit and flow.

Like I said, he is not a hack welding crap together to make it work. Everything is engineered, tested and tuned prior to brining to market.

Aha! So they DID move forward, I talked to them half an age ago and they were still very very much up in the air.
I should qualify that: it was last Christmas IIRC.

Guys to add our experience to a few Myths:

First and foremost Extrudabody is NOT like any other Company! We innovate and do not follow convential rules.

Trumpets and Plenums: Trumpets protruding into a Plenum is not the way to make power...... air entering one end, center or the other WILL TAKE the path of least resistance filling 1 cylinder over another unless the plenum is huge, sonic waves back into the plenum further disrupts this flow reaking havoc for cylinder to cylinder balance! The slight increase you get from a colder air charge is NOT offset by the Plenum embalance from cylinder to cylinder. If you want cold air induction Isolate/segment the engine bay and feed cold air to it!

Now factor in the fact that most ECU's are batch fired injectors, which means all are spraying the same amount of fuel, with each runner flowing different amounts of air this means some are rich and some are lean! Ok for the rich ones, not so good for the lean ones! The ECU's that are Sequential or have Cylinder to cylinder Fuel Trim still requires a Thermocouple or O2 sensor in each exhaust tube to tune the trims.... and this starts driving costs way up

Trumpets: What you don't see you still get! Do Trumpets make power or does the Radiused edge that rolls the Airflow into the Body make power? Most all ITB/Weber trumpets have a small 1/4" to 5/16" bead or rolled edge. we used 1/2" with the 45mm and 48mm Taper bore ITB's. The Velocity stack is built into the ITB Body!

Here's a bone stock VK5.6ltr V8 from Nissan that made 401hp @ the Wheels with 45mm Taper Bores, Jim Wolf Cams and Headers! This was a MAF Sensor based Buggy build. Wolf wanted to run stock electronics, hence the size of that Plenum, you still do not see Trumpets protruding into a plenum, as it's hard enough to get high velocity air to turn, imagine trying toget it to make a 180 degree turn around the LIP of a Trumpet!

Extrudabody Electronics is not Based on MS, but an OEM Based ECU from Europe with over 20k running examples!

Here's a tickler: M50 Sculpted 3D CNC Billet manifold! The Plastic SLA piece below costs$1000 and all it does is check fitment! As you can see R&D Costs are quickly eating profits to the point most companies do not make a DIME on the first 15 to 20 systems they sale! This is just part of the business!

By the BMW! That Filter Housing is Nice and Conveinent for changing oil, but it's a PITA when trying to get ITB's to fit under a Hood! :)

Guys we will help anyone get to where they want to go, but in the end we have to make money to stay in business. With 100% USA Manufacturing we are not the cheapest in town, but if you want Quality on your car Extrudabody can offer that at a reasonable cost, with innovations no one else can match.

And forgive me in advance, but we simply do not have time to tune into the forums on a daily basis! I've also divulged lots of information hope it's seen as what it is an explination of what a developer goes thru to bring a product to market and not a SALES Grab!

Check with Levent of the M10/M20 stuff!

                            Thanks
