The state has certain minimums for medical, property damage etc. The reason a lot of people don't carry collision is in the eyes of the insurance company and a lot of other people your car with all of it's "mods" and cosmetic shit is worth about $600 tops if it's was from the 90's and $325 for an earlier model.

I'm 30, I'm with usaa, carry liability only 250/500/250 on three vehicles: 69 vw bug, 81 vw caddy, 86 eta and a home owners policy which I can't recall the details right now, pretty standard, 250 structure, 500 injury etc. $660 for the six month premium.

Apparently I'm getting screwed by insurance. I'm 21, $156 a month for liability only on what the insurance company thinks is a 1990 325i "(srs, anti-lock brakes). Clean record.

You have to shop around for insurance. Progressive seems to be the cheapest in Philly.

for those who have liability only. What is the amount of your liability coverage?

I want to do the lowest amount but I'm also hesitant should I do get in an accident that is my fault *knock on wood*

by far i found esurance to be the cheapest because it has the most discounts for my location, status, etc...

Do you own a house or anything worth a significant amount of money? In other words if I were to sue you for everything you're worth and win what would I have? If your car is titled under your name alone as is your insurance policy your parents or anyone else are free from liability. I carry 100k personal injury for each individual, 300k max per accident, 100k property damage but I am a homeowner. If you're young single and without house or children than the minimum coverage requirement is made for you.
