    Heat doesn't work.

    Symptoms:

Blower works perfectly. AC works. Heat works for about 5 seconds when first turned on. After that, you just get outside air.

A friend thought it might be the heater valve, but it is not as if it were the heater valve, heat would come on at idle. My heat does not come on at all.

Heater core is probably fine as when it blows don't you get coolant all over your interior? This never happened.

Any ideas? Now that I think of it, I'm not sure the heat has worked since the M50 conversion? Anything I could have botched durring the conversion that would effect heat and only heat?

When was the last time you used your heat? My car sat for awhile and then I drove it and went to use the heat and it took awhile for the heat to actually work. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Same ques. here...when was the last time the heat worked? I had a similar prob on mine...the coolant hoses running into the car were reversed by some douchebag when I had the head re-installed on my car.

the heat on m 325E doesn't work that great... it warms up, but not to the level my M3 does.
anyone have any better ideas? I thought the heater control valve was the culprit, maybe I will look it up at school...

You could try bleeding the system if you haven't done that already. I know there are two thermostats avail. for e30s but I don't know how much of a significanct difference there is in the cabin temperatures.

I just did the medium lever thermostat, there are 3 different ones.
I just did the water pump, lines, and flush with BMW Coolant too... so there is no air in there...

why would uw ant heat on a 70 deg day????

BTW it looks like a heater valve, if it were the heater core, there would be antifreeze on your carpet, and it would smell like raw antifreeze

I'll check the lines. It's very possible I could have mixed that up. I only need heat in the mornings when it is 40o or so. However, females get colder then males and I'm tired of hearing complaints. Afterall, I want them to dress less, not more when they catch a ride with me.
