I don't see a problem so long as you have another toy to drive. The Mercedes will be a nice comfy ride to take your lady to diner and a movie. Only thing, when comes down to some spirited driving you'll miss the e30.

So you want to trade a clean, modded e30 for a big boxy benz? Dont do it because your going to have one hell of a time trying to find another clean e30 around here when you realize you liked the e30 better.
