The M20 has a large round connector approximately under the throttle body which can be disconnected, is this a second set of wires or the main wire set?
We're looking at an M42 here, are we not? The M20 doesn't have a harness rail like that.
Either open up the harness rail or find out where the wire goes...
Definitely an M20. The later models have a plastic injector harness rail like that. OP that wire leads to a multipin connector under the manifold. The bottom part of the connector unscrews a half turn or so and then there is a plastic ring that holds the injector harness connector to the support. Just unscrew the ring and it should pull right out.
I traced it to the plug, which is exactly what bmwguru said. The bottom part unscrews, but the top half is in a bracket, its hard to get a pic of it. I don't want to just yank it out, so I'd thought I would check here first...
