Listen to each there own but theres a reason that cars have gauges. Its a safety measure to know everything is running good.

Reason for my boost gauge is so I know what psi im running at all times. If I were to run on a cold day my boost would spike so I used the wideband to correct fuel and EGT for timing. On the fly I could street tune my car for that night and I did it all the time being that miami is one day cold then hot the next. My gauges also had warnings for both egt and boost so I would know if I was in danger or not. I get what your saying that a tuned car would not need to have this but the truft is you do.

Hell even Megasquirt has provisions to program in fail safes for the issues you list. A proper tune ( and ECU ) makes those gauges unnecessary. If your car is set up that friggen close to the ragged edge a warning light does nothing but tell you that fucked your motor and good. I suspect that the reason you had to have that crap on your S2000 is because of some piggiebacked chip or ECU on top of the stock ECU that was not designed for boost. Evn low dollar stand alone ECUs can be set up to never allow the things you mention to happen.

Back to the original topic, damn near every car mass produced in the last 20 years were built to be disposable. The days of classic overbuilt iron is gone. S2000s are a nice ride for what they are ( I don't fit in them very well but had a shot in Jeans brothers at the track ), I don't see them becoming collectable any time in the near future.

And if the function is DD, coilovers and undersized tires do not hinder it. If hes having issues with traction with that setup, hes most likely being irresponsible unless hes on the track.

Its not like the majority couldn't just be adjusted up, then toss on some nice rubber for track days.

Actually I had a AEM EMS and it had provisions for a fail safe for to lean and boost cut. You seamed to miss the main reason i had them, for tuning on the street. Ill let you fight your battle yourself Ive built my share of 500+ WHP Hondas to know what im doing.

So you had a piggyback and couldn't or wouldn't set it up properly so you would have to "tune on the street". Fuckin LOL

Isn't that like buying some shit and bolting it on, I'm sure it was tough.

AEM EMS is definitely not a piggyback

Obviously, you've never heard of the SR20DET or the CA18DET.

Neither is an engine temp gauge, or an oil pressure gauge.

                        You're an idiot.

No one with a properly tuned car needs gauges; they're insurance against part failure. You are aware that engine parts do fail from time to time, right?

And you've built and tuned exactly how many boosted cars?

Gauges DO NOT work as insurance against part failure, they let you know when shit has already failed. If you can tell what kinda gauge I can put in my car to make parts stronger I'll gladly install them.

Does the BMW 335 have EGT, Boost and Wide band gauges in the dash. Those fucking BMW engineers must not know shit, fucking retards.
