Ireland Engineering Exhaust--- Sound Clip Back Up Jan.29

it finally arrived! not that shipping was slow, but after waiting 3 months on a $600 supersprint it feels good to finally have a decent exhaust, at around $200 cheaper. total cost was $420 ($30 shipping), and arrived in 5 days. the quality and finish is great, better than the supersprints ive seen. it did come with a small dent in the tail pipe, but that doesnt really bother me. I had absolutely no problems installing it, it was a direct replacement, i was even able to do it at night since i didnt want to wait for the weekend . its hard to compare it to the stock exhaust as my stock system had a giant hole in it and sounded extremely deep, bassy, and loud by the time i replaced it. the IE exhaust is a little louder than i expected (still louder than stock, but not as loud as my muffler with the giant hole), but sounds better, and isnt ricey at all.

i will post sound clips (in any format) if some one will host them 8)

    here's some pics:

thats a little too shiny for my tastes. i want to just get a muffler and get Muffler Man to weld some 2.25" piping. how does it sound? I don't want something too loud. i think if this were painted flat black it could look pretty good

Please post some sound clips (someone host for him)... I am interested in this setup and would really like to hear how it sounds.

Looks good btw, but as others said, I think it would look better black. I dont have a rear valence/skirt on my car, so It might really stick out a lot. What do you think?

edit: can you post a pic from the side (just realized your car has the same back end as mine) I would like to see if it is very visible at all.

yeah, i wasnt crazy about the shininess either which is why supersprint was my first choice. but now that its on, it doesnt stand out much at all, and looks decent becuase it doesnt really reflect much light (on my 87 with no rear valance). plus i intend on getting a euro or mtech valance down the road.

I have one coming for my US car too, Can't wait. I was going to do a Steebro on my journey to my in laws for the holidays out in Michigan. No I don't need to worry about driving 12 plus hours alone in it while my Fam rides in a minivan. I hope to see it soon.

Matt do you have a sound clip of it yet? I would like to hear a rolling road clip but an idle and a throttle blip from the interior would be nice.

I think that manufacters should do sound clips when the sell em on there web sites.

sorry greg, i havent been able to get rolling clips yet, but interior noise is very low while driving (almost undetectable below 3k), if thats what you were concerned about

                      Thanks alot spaz!

after listening to the outside clip i noticed you can hear a slight high pitch rattling sound, which isnt noticeable at all when standing next to the car. i think its just a defect in the recording cause i just used a cheap digicam which was only about 6in from the muffler. also, sorry, but i only took it to 4.5k rpm cause the engine wasnt too warm (crummy thermostat), but i think you can get a good enough idea what the last 2k would sound like

Any chance of a sound clip while driving? Maybe a hard 3rd gear pull? Most performance exhausts sound a lot different under load.

It sounds OK, but it will sound a lot better once it is broken in.
I agree with Brew, a 3rd gear pull would be nice too.
